How to Make an Anemometer

Materials:

  • 5 cups
  • 2 straws
  • Pin
  • Pencil with an eraser at the end
  • Tape (optional)

Making the Base

Create 2 pairs of holes (4 holes in total) that intersect with each other perpendicularly as shown above, as well as one underneath.

Making the Secondary Cups

Punch a pair of holes into four cups as shown above.

Putting Them Together

Put a straw in each pair of holes of the base cup (2 straws), and put a cup in each end, with all of them facing the same direction as shown above (you can use tape to secure the cups).

Finishing It

Stab the pin into where the straws intersect and insert the rubber end of your pencil into the point of the pin. Now you've finished!
