How to Make an Arduino Radio Controlled Robot
I've always wanted to make a remote control robot car, but always thought it was too hard or complicated. A few weeks ago I finally did some real research and realized that it is much easier to make than I thought and is tons of fun! I decided to make this guide to share what I learned.
This robot is fun, easy to make, and will teach a few new skills along the way. It uses an Arduino, Motors, and a Hobby RC transmitter and receiver.
Video
I made this video to more easily help others understand and recreate the process of building a radio controlled robot! Check the next step for extra information about the video.
Extra Information
If you have any questions or concerns about the project, leave a comment on the video and I'll get back to you as quickly as I can!

-Emgreat Motor and Chassis Kit: http://amzn.com/B00GLO5SMY
-Arduino Mega: http://amzn.com/B00OH21CRM If you have the money, please consider supporting Arduino by buying the official Mega from their store to help them continue to make amazing products: http://store-usa.arduino.cc/products/...
-Turnigy 9x Transmitter/Receiver: http://goo.gl/tcZ8QI
-6x AA 9v battery back w/ DC jack: http://amzn.com/B00L0642SE if you want faster shipping: http://goo.gl/ddDM0F , http://goo.gl/YS15OZ , or buy this from adafruit: https://www.adafruit.com/product/248 and solder on a DC jack. DO NOT PLUG DIRECTLY INTO 5V and GND, ONLY DC POWER JACK ON ARDUINO
-Single Ribbon M-F Jumper Cables: http://amzn.com/B00ZWEFWO8 These come F-F and M-M, but they are useful for other projects.
-Triple Ribbon M-F Servo (used for receiver) Cables: http://amzn.com/B00X5IAZJK
-Extra Caster: http://amzn.com/B0116ECXIU I just got mine from a hardware store. Also, this isn't necessary but the robot will tip backwards a lot.
-Velcro (adhesive back): http://amzn.com/B000TGSPV6
-Electrical Tape: http://amzn.com/B001B19JLS You can use any tape you have around the house, but here's a link anyway.
-Soldering Iron: http://amzn.com/B000AS28UC This is the one I use and I'd recommend it if you plan to continue with this hobby. Otherwise there are cheaper options around stores and online. If you are not comfortable soldering or just really don't want to buy an iron, you may want to try out hot glue instead. Twist a tip of the wire around the motor lead and hot glue the lead to the motor. This is a pretty sketchy way to attach wires, so be very careful and check the leads often.
