How to Play Brain Stew by Green Day on the Guitar (Beginner)
If you've always wanted to start learning how to play guitar or want to learn a simple song from one of your favorite bands, then this Instructable is for you!
"Brain Stew" is one of the easiest songs to start with. It only consists of five chords/notes in total, perfect for a beginner.
Supplies
For this Instructable you will need:
- Guitar (Electric or Acoustic)
- Pick
Gather All of Your Supplies
You'll need your guitar and pick to start playing, right? :)
Starting to Play
Place your index finger on the sixth string in the fifth fret, along with your ring finger on the fifth string in the seventh fret.
Strum two times.
Learning How to Play
Place your index finger on the sixth string in the third fret, along with your ring finger in the fifth fret.
Strum two times.
Learning How to Play
Place your index finger on the sixth string in the second fret, along with your ring finger in the fourth fret.
Strum two times.
Learning How to Play
Place your index finger on the sixth string in the first fret, and your ring finger on the fifth string in the third fret.
Strum two times
Learning How to Play
Place your index (or middle)—it’s a personal preference—finger on the fifth string in the second fret. Do not put another finger on any other string.
Strum two times.

Repeat all steps for the entire song.
You can put in a couple of fillers here and there—that's what I like to do—in order to make it sound heavier. :)
