How to Properly Stack and Store Wet Lumber

Recently I acquired 300 board feet of blue pine. I thought I would show how to sticker and stack it, and store it until it is properly dry.

First: Cut as many stickers as you will need to place between the wet lumber. It's important this stickers are all the same size, this insures the lumber dries evenly.

Second; Place 2x4 or 4x4's on the ground to start the stacking proccess.

Third; Stack the lumber on top of the 4x4's, then place wet wood on top, then place sticker on top of wet wood, and repeat until all wood is used.

Last; Place weights, or something heavy to keep wood in place and strait.

Info....... You should place your wood in a well ventilated area, free from extreme wet, cold or heat, and avoid direct sunlight. The wood need to be stored and dried for one year per inch of thickness.
