Greetings all! If you clicked this link, you must be interested in learning how to refinish a wooden table! Refinishing furniture is an awesome way to save money! You can easily take someone else's trash and turn it into treasure!! If you are wanting to learn more, continue on to STEP 1! I promise you won't be disappointed! This is a wooden kitchen table that I purchased from Facebook Marketplace for just $60! That's right, $60! Enough bragging, let's start refinishing!

Supplies

These are the supplies that are needed to create your soon to be masterpiece!

1.Wood finish in any brand and color of your choice.

2. CitriStrip Stripping Gel

3. Electric sander

4. Putty Knife

5. Any paint color of your choice

6. Microfiber towel

Add the CitriStrip

This first step is one of the most important steps! You will take the CitriStrip gel and evenly distribute it across the top surface of the table. Be sure to COVER every bit of the top, leaving no uncovered areas. The purpose of this gel is to remove the old wood finish from the table. It removes not only the old wood finish, but any stains as well. Make sure you let this sit on the table for at least 2-3 hours.

Remove the Stripping Gel

I found this step to be very fun! Once you let the stripping gel sit for 2-3 hours, it's time to remove it. You'll take a putty knife and scrape all of the gel into a container of your choice. If you are completing this project inside your home, I would recommend you to protect your floors. You don't want the old stain to stain your beautiful floors! Then that'll be another project for you to take on!

Dry the Table

Once the removal of the stripping gel is complete, next you should take your microfiber towel and make sure the table is completely dry! It must be dry for the next step to be successful!

Sand the Table

Once the table is nice and dry, next you're going to take your electric sander and sand, sand, sand, and sand some more until the top surface is as smooth as it can be! I know this is the step you have really been waiting for! I was excited for this step too!

Add the Finish and Paint the Legs

Well look at you! You have made it to the last and final step!! Congratulations! Remember that beautiful wood stain that you couldn't wait to use, well you get to use it now! Take an old t-shirt or rag, dip the tip of the rag into the stain, and rub/scrub the stain onto the table. The table must dry for an entire 24 hours! Do not put anything on the top surface as it can completely ruin all of your hard work! Now you can also paint the legs of your table, be sure to not get any paint on the top surface!

Look at you! Enjoy your beautiful masterpiece!
