How to Repair a Phantom Zero Gravity Recliner (model 607395P) Remote
- This was created to show how to properly open the remote without destroying/breaking the screw mounts
- My wife's chair stopped working and was stuck in the reclined position
- She stated that the remote got stuck between the seat and the arm, and she could only pull it by the cable
- Both my wife and I did cursory Google searches, in hopes that we could find instructions on how to disassemble this remote
- I used the metal Spudger around the lip until I had broken the screw mounts thinking they were only plastic snaps
- Luckily the wires didn't break, they were just unplugged
Supplies
- iFixIt Toolkit, or makeshift tools
- Spudger to remove cover
- Tiny Philips screw driver
- Hot Glue Gun (If you broke screw mounts like I did, to reassemble the cover to the back)
Unplug Chair From Power Outlet and Remote Cable From Chair
- After you unplug the power cord from the outlet, at the rear of the chair, pull the velcroed flap to expose the remote cable connector
- Unscrew the pieces and pull apart with an extremely satisfying pop
Remove Metal Cover
- Gently remove, while not bending, the metal cover
- Pry from edge, working your way to the center until it pops off
- This should expose the hidden tiny metal Phillips screw heads
Remove Any Screws
- This shows where the screws and mounts are/were located
