  • This was created to show how to properly open the remote without destroying/breaking the screw mounts
  • My wife's chair stopped working and was stuck in the reclined position
  • She stated that the remote got stuck between the seat and the arm, and she could only pull it by the cable
  • Both my wife and I did cursory Google searches, in hopes that we could find instructions on how to disassemble this remote
  • I used the metal Spudger around the lip until I had broken the screw mounts thinking they were only plastic snaps
  • Luckily the wires didn't break, they were just unplugged

Supplies

  • iFixIt Toolkit, or makeshift tools
  • Spudger to remove cover
  • Tiny Philips screw driver
  • Hot Glue Gun (If you broke screw mounts like I did, to reassemble the cover to the back)

Unplug Chair From Power Outlet and Remote Cable From Chair

  • After you unplug the power cord from the outlet, at the rear of the chair, pull the velcroed flap to expose the remote cable connector
  • Unscrew the pieces and pull apart with an extremely satisfying pop

Remove Metal Cover

  • Gently remove, while not bending, the metal cover
  • Pry from edge, working your way to the center until it pops off
  • This should expose the hidden tiny metal Phillips screw heads
