Moss Care: Moss does not require soil to grow so it can grow on a rock or a hard surface area. But it does require moisture so it may need frequent watering depending on the dryness of the air around it. A heavy dose of water from a misting spray bottle can be an effective way to water moss or by soaking the moss in a shallow bowl of water. A terrarium setting for moss may offer some relief from the frequent need to water it. There are however, mixed feelings from the moss growing and gardening community about how moss will thrive or not in an enclosed environment. Many people do however have outstanding success with their moss when it is inside a terrarium. The use of a bell jar over the moss could be very helpful. For those people who have limited time to devote to the care and watering of live moss, preserved moss might work better for them. It comes in a variety of colors and textures, is easily placed into your project and requires no care to speak of.
