How to Shine a New Light on Old Things
Brighten the mood in the room with some pretty simple tricks.
Take something plain and give it some kick with some strategically placed lights.

Supplies
The lights I wanted to add.- Hampton Bay copper string lights.
Item I wanted to freshen up. - I chose this "Arrow Shelf".
Something to distract from the lights. - Patterned Aluminum Sheet
Screw hooks, eye screws, nails, or hot glue.
Whatever you choose will hold the lights in place.
Scissors and a hammer may prove useful for some of this project.

Setting Up the Lights
I put in about 10 eye screws inside the arrow to give myself something to string the lights from. Then I spread them around the perimeter a bit. Just about as much as i felt it needed. The copper string lights bend and mold fairly easily to whatever shape you want. Just work them around the inside spreading them as evenly as possible. Try to keep the power cord towards a corner that will make it less noticeable.
Add Some Camouflage to the Face of the Arrow.
This is to add some slight cover over the lights. I used some decorative aluminum sheeting that i got from Home Depot. You could add something not completely see through also. Just use whatever you want really. It accentuates the lights, and at the same time hides them a bit. I cut the aluminum to shape with scissors and used some very tiny nails to tack it on. You could use hot glue if necessary.
Display With Pride.
I chose to hang mine on the wall for now. You do whatever you want with it. Im sure it will look great anywhere.
