How to Start a Pocket Stove

This is a small camp stove from the 1970's and this is a guide on how to start it.

Supplies

Other than the stove, essential supplies are white gas to fuel the stove, isopropyl alcohol because it burns clean and to get it started, and lastly a lighter to light alcohol.

Setup and Open Stove

Find a safe spot to set up your stove and open it up to get started.

Fill Tank With Gas

Top off the tank with the white gas so the stove will have fuel to keep the burner going.

Fill the Small Bowl With Alcohol

The small bowl at the bottom needs to be filled with alcohol. Then once it is ignited it will heat up the gas tank and the heat will begin to build pressure. Once it is hot turn the key on the side to open the valve. Now gas is being pumped up to the top and the flame going with ignite the top and the burner will act like a big torch and gets very hot.

Place Pot/ Pan on Top

Now that the burner is ripping, place your pot or pan on top and after only a few minutes your water will boil or food will cook.
