How to Turn a Linear Actuator Into a Moving Transformer?
If you want to own a moving transformer, then you will have to read this article.
We would want to make the transformer's limbs moving,
performing simple tasks and saying a few things, or even knowing how to stand,
sit and wave hands. The power from linear actuators would allow such basic actions.
Step:Choose an Actuator
Let's calculate the basic pushing force.
A load of linear actuators is usually measured in Newton,
1 lb=4.45 N, if we need to push a weight of approximately 441lbs,
then I would need an actuator of 2000N.
By choosing Hongba linear actuator DJ801,
which covers a stroke length of 50mm to 600mm,
reaching a maximum load of 6000N with a travel speed from
4.7 mm/s to 28 mm/s.
If we want all four limbs moving, then we need four linear actuators.
In Order to Connect With the Linear Actuator
We need to convert the voltage from 200 V to 12V, in order to connect with the linear actuator. I would personally choose a switching transformer with 500W, 12V, and 24A.
A 12V remote, used for emitting and receiving signals, adjusts to 12 working modes. The transformer would make some moves according to our command.
Connect the wires. The circuit itself is not complex, it is best not to use the engine wire directly as a control, and connect the relay.
Make the Head
Make the head. The head was based on the prototype Hound in the Transformers, one member of the Autobots.
Metal plates are used to make the angles, and then the head is painted with color.
Piece Every Part Onto the Robot
Piece every part onto the robot, people should be aware of the angles of the linear actuators
when installing arms, depending on the size of the waving.
