It is not difficult to turn on an LED with AA batteries. In this project, we learn how to turn the LED on with two AA batteries.

Supplies

The materials we need are:

  • 1.5V AA Battery × 2
  • 330Ω Resistance × 1
  • LED × 1
  • Copper Wire × 1
  • Small Size Aluminum Foil × 2
  • Tape × 1

Connect Batteries in Series

Connect two 1.5V AA Batteries in series and secure with tape. Here, we need to create a very small space between the batteries. Otherwise, the LED will not turn off until the battery is depleted.

Connect the Aluminum Foil, LED, and Copper Wire to Batteries

Connect the aluminum foil, the anode (the longer leg) of the LED, and the copper wire to the anode and cathode of the batteries, respectively. And secure with tape.
