How to Use Zoom

In order to use Zoom for School, Work, or other meetings

first you must create an account if you do not already have one.

Step 1 Creating Your Own Account

Zoom allows you to create a free account, to do this click here

enter your email address. You’ll receive an email from zoom to activate your account click on the link in the email and follow the instructions.

Step 2 Sign in to Your Zoom Account

Go to zoom.us/signin.

Use your recently created log in credentials to complete your log in. If you have a gmail account you can click on the google button and use your Gmail account to easily sign in. You can do the the same with a Facebook account

Optional Step

Optional step: Personalize your account

Click on this link to: update profile You can add a picture set which time zone you are in and update/change other settings. See the picture below

Step 3 Schedule Your First Meeting

Sign in to your Zoom web portal.

Click Meetings.

Click Schedule a Meeting.

Choose the date and time for your meeting.

(Optional) Select any other settings you would like to use.

Click Save.

Step 4 Start a Test Meeting

I recommend downloading the Zoom app by clicking on “Downloads”.

You can do this by visiting https://zoom.us/download

Click here to: join a test Zoom meeting in order to get familiar with Zoom, test your video/audio and other settings This is an important step before you start a real meeting.

Step 5 Start Your First Meeting As Host

Step 4 Start your first meeting as host

Make sure the Zoom app is opened and that you are signed in

Click on the “Meetings tab” in the center of your screen on the top

From here you can select to join a meeting, start your own meeting, or schedule a meeting. See picture below.

Step 6 Inviting Others to Join Your Meeting

This

is simply done by sharing your invitation or join link. You can do this after scheduling your meeting by clicking Copy the Invitation. See the picture

If you want to invite someone to your unscheduled meeting,
first click on the orange “New Meeting” button. On the bottom of the Zoom app click on participants and then on invite as seen in the picture below.

Step 7 Join Another Persons Meeting

The person who is hosting a meeting will send you an

invitation link either by emailing it to you, or sending it via another method. Simply click on the link and join.
