How to Make Arroz Con Leche With Raisins
Arroz con Leche is made many different ways, for instance, if you're not a big raisin fan, you could always add walnuts, almonds, pistachios, coconut, berries, mangos, apples, or chocolate instead. Also, if you prefer you could also change the ground cinnamon and add chocolate shavings, or fresh berries instead.
Ingredients
To make the arroz con leche you will need
1 cup of long-grain rice,
1 cinnamon stick,
1/4 teaspoon of salt,
2-1/2 cups of water,
4 cups of milk (2 cups of evaporated milk and 2 cups of regular milk),
1/2 cup of raisins,
1/2 cup of sugar,
1 tbs of vanilla,
ground cinnamon to give the arroz con leche more flavor.
1 cup of long-grain rice,
1 cinnamon stick,
1/4 teaspoon of salt,
2-1/2 cups of water,
4 cups of milk (2 cups of evaporated milk and 2 cups of regular milk),
1/2 cup of raisins,
1/2 cup of sugar,
1 tbs of vanilla,
ground cinnamon to give the arroz con leche more flavor.
Cooking the Rice
In a medium saucepan add the one cup of rice (already washed), cinnamon stick, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 2 1/2 cups of water. Cover and let it boil for 15-20 minutes.
Adding the Milk
After 15-20 minutes have passed, pour the 2 cups of evaporated and 2 cups of regular milk and add the 1/2 cup of raisins. Then cover the saucepan and let it bubble or warm up for 10 minutes.
Sugar
Next add the 1/2 cups of sugar and 1 tbs of vanilla, and stir. After adding the sugar and vanilla let the arroz con leche rest for another 5-10 minutes.
Enjoy!!
After 5-10 minutes have passed let the arroz con leche cool; you can even refrigerate it. Now you can add the ground cinnamon on top to give the arroz con leche more flavor. Hope you like it!!!
