How to Make a "Smashing" Stop Motion Animation
This guide will teach you how to use stop-motion animation to show some smashing effects using blunt and sharp objects and tools to destroy an object.
In this example, I will be using a leftover pony given to me by my teacher.

Materials:
- Hammer
- Blades
- Tacks
- Camera
- Clay Model
- Saws
- Mental Stability
Step 1: Finding a Object
Look around for some sort of object (preferably a easy to warp material eg.clay) In this case, I have found a pony made of Plasticine, I will be using it in my animation. Make sure what you choose is not too small, as it has to last for the entirety of the animation.
Now that you have the Object. You must set-up your animation area.

Step 2: Setting Up the Animation Station
This step will cause you much less mental strain than the previous step. First, find an area and set-up a work station with various tools that can be used for animation
Set-up some cutting and hammering tools listed in the introduction to this guide near the object, insure that the object is on some sort of elevation like a sheet of metal or some lumber to prevent damaging the table. Make sure you have a varied amount of tools
and objects to insure that you can do multiple effects

Step 4: Animation
Now comes the animation, using the camera listed in the materials section. Slowly destroy the Object whilst taking a stop motion picture collection, you may use either real time stop motion, or you could slowly cut and smash the Object whilst taking pictures one by one. You should take as many pictures as possible, to insure the animation is not choppy when post-processing is complete. Use some sort of red material (eg. Red Clay) for gore effects. Once you have your pictures, find an editing software to use
(( -- -- Pro Tips -- ))
Sony Vegas is the best editing software in existence.
Import the pictures into the editing software and edit out any misplaced or broken pictures, look for sound clips online and edit sound clips into areas where you find it appropriate. For example when a hammer hits the pony, Add a crushing sound effect. Once the pictures are edited and the sound clips added, Export your video and upload it to Youtube. The animation done by me with this guide is on step 4 for your enjoyment.
