Bender Bending Rodriquez is the lovably robot buddy from one of my favorite shows Futurama. In one episode a few impressionable kids begin idolizing him and sport some pretty nifty masks of Bender made out of cardboard. This is where I got this idea to make a bender mask!

Materials Needed !

For this project you will need:

+Your favorite picture of Bender
+ Cardboard (big enough to fit on your head)
+ Sharpee Marker
+ Ruler
+ Tracing paper (optional)
+ Paint (Grey and yellow)
+ Hole puncher
+ yarn or string.

Find a Picture !

First you need to find a picture that you will need to use for reference. Online pictures work well because you can resize them, print and work from that. I am without a printer so I based my Bender mask off of this picture.
If you are using a small picture, using a grid will help. I traced the picture, then set up a grid which cut the picture into half inch squares. When making my mask this translates to 2 inches. (Each half inch on your small grid = 2 inches on your actual mask)

Drawing the Mask....

You don't have to set up the grid. Bender is pretty easy to draw. But it does help. I set it by making half inch boxes, then on my cardboard made inch and a half boxes. (thus making it bigger) Out lining it with a black sharpee helps. On my peice I could not fit the antenna so made it off to the side and glued it on later.
Once it is traced break out the sissors and cut out the mask.

Painting & Finishing

Break out the paints.. bender is foghat grey with yellow eyes and mouth. (I played around with some glow in the dark paint)
After it has dried use a hole punch to make holes on each side and tie with a piece of string. Than vwa-la ! You are ready to tell friends to bite your shiny metal ass!
