Everybody loves Legos! Admit it, even if you are a grown adult Legos are so fun to play with! So recently I got a request from my 6 yer old to make him a Lego cake. Challenge accepted! I did some basic research and figured out how to make this square looking Lego piece of a cake.

So lets get started!

You will need the following things to make the magic happen:

Mix It Up!

Use a mixer to mix the ingredients for 2 minutes on a low speed. Once the mixture is looking smooth, it is ready.

Put It in the Pan!

Once the mix has been properly mixed, you will need to put it in your rectangle pan. Make sure you spray the pan down with PAM first of course! Make sure you spray all the corners and edges good! Pour the mix into the pan.

Oven

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes.

Dying the Frosting

While the cake bakes you can dye the frosting. Put the frosting into a bowl, and pour some coloring into it. Mix by hand until the color is constant. You can do what ever coloring you would like to put onto the lego. Each coloring has to be mixed separately of course.

Level the Cake

Once the cake is ready, it is time level it! Make sure it has cooled down. You can put it in the fridge for about 10 minutes. You will want to level out the cake using a cake leveler so we have a flat top. Cut the cake into thirds.

Frosting

Once it is cut, it is time to frost it. It will need two coats of frosting. Apply the first coat so it is not crumbly any more. Put it in the fridge for 20 minutes Then apply the second. Use any color you made. To make the cake frosting nice and smooth you will need a icing smoother. Put the cake back in the fridge for the icing to harden.

Marshmallow Time!

When the icing has become stiff, it is time for the marshmallows. You will need to cut the marshmallows with baking scissors. Spray some PAM onto the scissors to prevent sticking. Cut the marshmallow in half. Dip each piece into the same colored frosting as the cake. Make sure it is coated all around. Place it onto the cake. Repeat until the cake has the right amount of bumps. They usually have 8 bumps, the smaller cakes take 4.

Finished!

You are all done! Don't they look great? I hope yours come out like mine! They are really easy to make. Great for any birthday party or a kids event. The kids will love these trust me!
