Hi everybody, today I will be showing you how to make a pocket sized, 20lb slingbow using some very basic materials and tools. To give you some idea of how powerful 20lb is, at less than half draw, is can easily penetrate 4mm plywood so please be very careful when using this:)

Things You Will Need

To make this you will need a hacksaw, some cloth, electrical tape, 1-1.5m of rubber tubing, some thin paracord and a 15-20cm length of 3/4 inch pvc.

Cutting.

Using a hack saw or craft knife, cut just less than halfway down the pvc as shown.

Bending.

Heating the top half of the pvc, bend the two sides down horizontaly as shown in pic 1, then cut out a notch about half a cm wide as shown in pics 2 and 3.

More Bending and Cutting.

Heating it again, pinch in the side bits as shown in 1 and 2. After some sanding, filing and more cutting, you should have something looking pretty much like in 3 and 4.

The Bands.

To prepare the bands, start by wrapping the piece of cloth loosely around the middle of one of the bands, then tie a 10-15 cm piece of paracord round it. Now do the same with the other band a tie the two together with a 3 cm gap in between.

The Last Step.

To finish it off, tie the bands to the frame as shown and add a layer insulating tape for looks.

To use it, simply put the arrow in the rest, clip the back of the arrow to the string, pull back and release.

Hopefully everybody has successfully made this, if not, please leave a comment.

My next instructable will be a tutorial on how to make a taser :)
