Making the Blade
Every thing in this indestructable will be described using the metric system so you need to find a ruler
with centimeters and millimeters
To make the blade you will need your metal to be 3-5 millimeters thick.
Use a metal cutting saw to make the blade according to the diagram.
The end cut should be at 35 degree angle.
Use a angle grinder to make one side of the blade sharp. Use clamps to hold the blade in place while you grind.
You can also use a rotary tool to carve detail in the blade. If you have experience with engraving you can engrave your name on the blade.

Making the Handle
To make the handle you will need to cut one of the 2x4s to these specifications.
2x2x4cm
Then find a drill bit that is the same diameter that the thickness of the blade.
Be sure to mark your drill bit so you drill only 3cm in the wood.
Use a mallet to pound the blade in the handle.
Use some wood glue to help the blade stay in the handle.

2x2x10cm
Drill the holes like you did in the handle only make them slightly bigger so the blade can slide in and out.
Drill only 8 cm in the wood.
The basic sword is complete.
Now, making it look ninja.

Decorating
Sand all the wood with a low grit sandpaper. 30 works fine.
Now paint it all black.
Get the new shoelace and cut of the ends.
Apply wood glue to the sides of the handle and tightly wrap the shoelace in even rows.
Be sure to glue down the ends so the shoelace doesn't unravel.
You can use scrap leather to make straps.
If you did everything according to the instructions this is what your sword should look like.

To make things simpler......................
Buy a blade........ I'm not sure what there called but there about 20 cm long and there replaceable blades for a big floor scraper you can probably find them in Home Depot or Lowe's.
Handle Home Depot also has these long wooden stakes, for i presume holding tomato plants,
they are the same size needed for the handle and sheath but they need to be sanded and cut.
