How to Plug a Home Thetre Subwoofer Into Your Computer
i am going to show you how to have a home thetre subwoofer share a 3.5mm jack with your normal computer speakers.
What You Need
you need:
-computer speakers
-a powered home thetre subwoofer ( i am using a Polk PSW110)
-RCA cable. about 5 ft in length(depends on how far away you want it.)
-a specific place for your subwoofer
-a 3.5mm female to L and R RCA female plugs
- a male to male 3.5mm cord
-a male to two female 3.5mm adapter/ splitter
take the 3.5mm to 3.5mm male cord and plug it into one of the two plugs on the splitter. next take the splitter and plug that into your computer. take the other end of the 3.5mm cord and plug that into your 3.5mm to rca adapter. take your RCA cord and plug that into the other end of the 3.5mm to rca adapter. take the other end of the RCA cord and plug it into your subwoofer. plug your computer speakers into the other plug on your splitter. play some music. make sure the volume on the subwoofer is turned down. ajust the subwoofer to your desired level. ajust your computer speakers to the desired level
go into control panel. click on sound speech and audio devices. click on ajust the system volume. look for the check box that says Place volume icon in the task bar. click on it. now click apply. close all your windows. click pn the arrow by the clock on the taskbar. look for speaker icon. double click it. ajust accordingly.
