How to Put Out a Candle Magic (party Trick!)

this instructable will show you how to create co2 using house hold items then use the gas to put out a candle like "magic". This instructable needs a parent help as flames are involved.

Place about 3 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda in the jug.

Pour about 5 tablespoons of vinegar into jug and place a lid on top.

Ask a parent to light a candle for you.
Wait till the bubbles die down in the jug than continue on to next step

Remove lid and tilt jug over candle. (Don't pour the liquid over the flame)
The candle will slowly die out. See video below to view.

Co2 (carbon dioxide) is heavy than air. This means that is moves about like a liquid so you can pour the gas! Co2 puts out a flame because it smuthers it. Co2 is used in fire extinguishers.
