How to Replace the Engine Air Filter on the Hyundai Tiburon 2008
This is a fairly simple task of replacing the engine air filter in the 4 cylinder Hyundai Tiburon. The engine air filter keeps dust and debris out of the engine and prevents premature wear and tear. It can get clogged and reduce performance and fuel economy if not replaced regularly. How often depends on your environment but I usually do it every year cause it is easy and cheap. Check out the maintenance manual for specific time/mile intervals.
All you need is the engine air filter which is readily found at most auto parts store as well as the dealer. No tools but your hands are needed.

Remove the Engine Air Filter Cover
Pop open the hood and find the engine air filter housing. To open it, you have to unsnap 2 hinges on the front corners of the housing. The back of the housing has slots from which the top part of the housing slides out after the hinges are unsnapped.
Remove Air Filter
Remove the old air filter. Optionally, you can use a vacuum to remove any debris at the bottom of the housing.
Place New Air Filter and Close the Housing
Place the new air filter with metal grate side up and the fins side down. There is no particular rotational orientation because it is a regular rectangle. Slide the top part of the filter housing into the two slots which may require a little effort and persuasion. But once it is in, the two front clips should snap on pretty easily. Check to make sure you have a good seal. That's it, you're done.
