IPhone 12 Pro 3D Printed Wallet and Phone Case
We made an I phone 12 pro case that is made out of Tpu. We wanted to make a case that was tough, 3rd printable and comfortable to hold.
Supplies
*TPU 3D printer filament,
*Iphone 12 pro,
*Prusa slicer printer
*Caliper
*cad
You need to have an iPhone 12 for this project so that is the very important part. You will the software Onshape, Prusaslicer, and 3D Printer to design and print case. For your filament you will need Polyurethane(TPU) for this case.
The Iphone 12 (pro model as well) have a corner radius of 47.3 pt. Using that dimensions, we can determine our four corners. Since the case will be longer and wider than the iPhone itself, we will need to increase from the (5.98 x 2.97) to 6.03 by 3.036 to fit the iPhone in properly. This sketch will be the main frame for the case.
Like most cases you need to add walls and corners to fit the case in as the frame will be the part that absorbs the impact. These dimensions here is how the phone will be fitted for protections.
Our measurements for the camera goes as follows: 1.054 Length and 1.02 for Width. For the corners you will need a 28pt radius to fit the camera after many prototypes proved to be this.
Due to some complication, we thought it was best to add cutouts to optimize the use of the buttons. For the mute it has a height of 1.944in and the lines for the to cutout you need to make .446 and then extrude.
For the power, .483in and .401in are the lines need and need to create a height of 1.348in to provide function to the power button while protecting the phone and will need to extrude.
Add Covers
To protect the screen and the phone, we add extra protection by providing covers to prevent the phone from falling out and protect the screen as the covers will protect the screens as it absorbs the impact and doesn't damage the screen. "ADD Dimensions Plz)
Wallet
Build the outline of the wallet so its assigned to the sides of the case and camera. Second extrude the wallet up 0.3 in. Third extrude in to make the space in the wallet, the extrude should be 2.125 inches. You have to print the wallet in two different parts. The top part of the compartment should be separated from the main body.
Attach Parts
Glue the wallet to the back.
Final Product
Put iPhone and Wallet together with your choice of adhesive.
