Ice Cream Cake (like WOAH)
This recipe is for an ice cream cake. Recently, my 15 year old son decided he wanted an ice cream cake. He picked it out at the store and we brought it home. I remember ice cream cake fondly as a kid, so I decided to cut myself a slice. It tasted terrible (although, admittedly, the teenager still loved it). After some recipe hunting, I understood how to make a basic ice cream cake, but I decided to take it to another level. I can't say that there will be no guilt eating a dish like this, but I CAN say that at least that guilt won't be over eating a ton of calories of a cake that tastes awful...these calories will be well worth it.
Ingredients
2 qts. (8 cups) of ice cream (4 cups for each layer, flavors can be the same or different)
2 packages Oreo cookies (you will be removing the filling, sorry)
1/2 box waffle cones
1 jar hot fudge
1 stick butter
Milk chocolate chips
Marachino cherries
whipped cream
I use a 9.75" springform pan (anything 9" or over will do) and a pulse blender (but this is optional).

Coooookies
Remove cream from Oreo cookies with a butter knife.
Mess Those Bad Boys Up
I use a pulse blender to chop my Oreos. You can use the same...or a food processor. Or a ziploc back and your rolling pin, hands, or a hammer. Just smash these to bits.
Everything Is Better With Butter
Melt the stick of butter and add just over 3 cups of the Oreo crumbs to it. Stir well to combine.
Pressing Time
Press the mixture into the bottom and sides of the pan. Don't worry if they don't go all the way up. It will still come out fantastic.
Finish Up Those Crumbs
Add some cold hot fudge to the remainder of the crumbs. It doesn't have an exact measurement, just eyeball it until all the crumbs are damp after you mix it all together. A few tablespoons will be enough.
Let's Work With Some Ice Cream
Put your ice cream into bowls. Allow it to soften at room temperature (you CAN microwave it for a few seconds if it needs some help, but you do NOT want it to be all liquid, just some area in between solid and melted.
Let's Make a Cake
Next, pour your first 4 cups of ice cream into the crust and spread it out nice and evenly. Some of the crust might get in there, but don't worry. It's still going to turn out amazing, I promise.
MORE OREOS NOM NOM NOM
Add your hot fudge/Oreo layer right in there on top. Spread it out as evenly as you can (doesn't need to be perfect).
MORE LAYERS!
Throw the last 4 cups of ice cream on top and even out with your rubber spatula.
Waffle Cones Because Why Not?
Crush the half pack of waffle cones in a pulse blender (or whichever method you used on the Oreos).
Sprinkling
Sprinkle the crushed cones across the top and press gently to set.
Toppings
Sprinkle on some chocolate chips and pat those down too!
...and More Toppings
Heat the remaining hot fudge in the microwave for about a minute. Use it to pour a swirl around the top.
Freezer Time
This cake needs to be in the freezer for about 5 hours. LONGEST 5 HOURS EVER.
Let's Decorate
Add whipped cream and cherries to the finished cake. You can also throw on anything you want...sprinkles, candies, etc.
LET'S EAT!
Remove the springform sides from the pan and your cake is ready to serve!
