Installing Drivers
To connect to Ember over USB or Wi-Fi you’ll need to install a network-over-USB driver.
Windows
- Download the network driver for Windows (Which version of Windows do I have?)
- Double click on the downloaded driver (BONE_D64.exe or BONE_DRV.exe)
- Follow the prompts to finish the installation
After installation, there are a few more steps that you need to complete to configure the Windows driver
Note: | This procedure is for Windows 7, other versions of Windows may require a slightly different procedure. |
- Open the Device Manager
- Right click the entry for "Ember 3D Printer" and select "Update Driver Software..."
- Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
- Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
- Highlight "Network adapters" and select "Next"
- ighlight "Linux Developer Community" under "Manufacturer" and "Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget" under "Network Adapter" and select "Next"
- Select "Yes" when prompted with a warning
- Select "Close" when the driver is successfully updated
Mac
- Download the HoRNDIS Network Driver
- Double click the HoRNDIS.pkg after downloading
Note:
On OSX 10.9 you may get the message "can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." To avoid this,
- Navigate to the file in Finder
- Hold the “CTRL” button and click on the file
- Select “Open” from the menu
- At the prompt, confirm that you wish to open the file
- Follow the prompts to finish the installation
Linux
No need to install any drivers, Woo Hoo!
