Today I will be showing you how to make this DIY cardboard speaker.

Supplies

These are the resources you will need...

-Two cups (any type of cups work as long as you can cut into them)

-One paper towel roll

- And a pair of scissors

Step 1

The first step you will do is to find the center of the paper towel roll and mark a line that is as long as your phone and add an extra half an inch. In my case, it was 3.5 inches.

Step 2

Then you cut the line and once that is done you will notice that the width of your phone doesn't quite fit so you will need to fold the ends out for a better fit as well as traping the sound better.

Step 3

Then once you have the paper towel roll all done you will need to make a hole on each cup for the paper towel roll to slide into. So what I did was trace around the paper towel roll onto the cup. Repeat this on both cups. In my example, I cut about 1.75 inches in diameter.

Step 4

Then you will start to cut out the circle and keep testing with the paper towel roll if it will fit. Like the second step if it doesn't quite fit fold out the ends for a better fit and so the sound doesn't escape. Repeat this step on both cups.

Step 5

Once both holes in the cups are cut out slide the ends of the paper towel roll into the cup about halfway on each side. Also, make sure that the paper towel roles hole for your phone is facing upwards.

Here is what the speaker should look like by itself. Put your phone in and play some of your favorite music and enjoy!
