Jake the Dog Light Up

A simple cardboard circuit made using small LEDs, copper tape and three volt batteries.

Materials

The materials that you will be needing for this project are; scissors, a Jake cutout, cardboard, copper tape, two LEDs, a 3 volt battery, and glue.

Step 1: Using a Pair of Scissors, Cut Out the Jake Picture

Step 2: Glue the Jake Cutout Onto a Piece of Cardboard

Step 3: Using a Pair of Scissors, Cut Out the Jake Light Up on the Cardboard

Step 4: Use Scissors to Make Two Holes in Jake's Eyes

Step 5: Push Your Two LEDs Through the Holes You've Made in the Eyes

Split the two legs of the LEDs apart, with both the long legs facing one side and the short legs facing the other.

Step 6: Sketch Out Your Circuit and Build

Make sure both long sides of the LEDs are facing the positive side of the current (battery) and try to use the copper tape in one piece so the circuit is not broken. Place the copper tape on the lines of the sketched circuit. Tape the legs of the LEDs securely on the copper tape.

Step 7: Watch Jake's Eyes Light Up!
