KCTC Instructions to Computer Build
Instructions on how to build personal computer
Step 1: CPU and RAM
You start with the motherboard and slowly insert the CPU into the respected slot. Next, you insert the RAM into the RAM slot.
Step 2: Fan and Video Card
Now you will need to put some thermal paste on top of the CPU, then slowly lower the CPU fan onto the thermal paste. Once it is on the CPU, lock the fan into place so it doesn't move around.
Next, you will want to add the video card into the slot. Making sure the ports are facing the same way as the other ports on the motherboard.
Step 3: Speaker and Power Supply
You will want to connect the speaker to the motherboard to make sure the motherboard boots up. After that you will want to connect the power supply cords to the motherboard which we will use in the next step.
Step 4: Testing the Motherboard and Video Cable
Now, you'll want to test if the motherboard will work before you put it into the case. You'll want to plug in the power supply and connect a VGA cord to the video card.
Now, take a small nail or screwdriver and touch the power pins on the motherboard. The CPU fan and power supply should turn on. If done correctly, A message saying there is no bootable device.
Step 5: Putting the Motherboard and Power Supply in the Case
Now it is time to put the components into the case. Disconnect all cords from the motherboard, and put the motherboard into the case. Next screw the motherboard into place, so that it doesn't move or fall out of place.
Put the power supply into the slot, so the fan and port are facing the outside of the case.
Step 6: Plugging in the Cords From Power Supply to Motherboard
Connect the plugs you had previously connected. Once you have these plugged in, you can perform some cord management. Make sure its all neat and tidy.
Step 7: Hard Drive and Connecting LED Cords
