KISS Principle Backpack

Lets say your in an Emergency you have a lot to carry but need your hands free and no Rucksack etc., hereĀ“s how to make a simple Backpack

Supplies

All you need is some kind of bag, Tarp, or Poncho etc.,

(here the infamous black bag)

some Paracord or cordage

Knife

2 small stones

Anchor Your Stones

In the bottom corners put a stone and wrap the bag/material around it and tie some cordage to them.

Do it to the left and right corners

Fill Your Backpack

Put what you want in your Backpack

Tie It Off

Take your free end of the cords and tie them around the neck of the Bag, you can use one cord if it is long enough by using the ends to tie off the stones in the bottom corners and tie off the loop at the top. Or if you have two cords also ok.

At the top I just use a bow to tie it off otherwise if you use a knot it may not be so easy to open.

Wear It

Now you can take the loops of the cords like the straps of your Backpack and wear it as one.

Yes, it may dig into the shoulders but I think its easy to make some padding.

But the point is you have an easily made Backpack and the trick with the stones can be used in a lot of ways, see my KISS Principle Sleeping system coming up.
