Knife Games: 5-Finger Fillet

After a long days work or school we all need to relax a little right? Me to, and the best way to relax is to put yourself in a situation where if you don't relax, you may just lose a digit. Nothing can get you on your way to sleep like a little 5-Finger Fillet.

Pick a Knife, Any Knife, Hopefully Its Your Lucky Knife!

For this game you only need four things, a knife, two hands and a table. There are many knives laying about my lab and I grabbed the few closest to me. You should go with something you are comfortable with, personally I go with a fixed blade due to a bad folding blade accident back in Boy Scouts. Ever had a knife fold down into your hand? It's all personal preference or what you have on hand. For practice, I recommend an unsharpened pencil, eraser down or another non-harmful item.

Your Hand. Use It and Possibly Lose It.

I am right handed so I will be putting my left hand on the line. Who really needs both anyway? Basically the spaces around your hand are numbered, starting with the space to the right of your thumb (1), the space between your thumb and index finger (2), so on until you reach the space to the left of your little finger (6). The pictures can explain it much better.

The Game, Finally.

Grip your knife firmly in your dominant hand, serial killer stab style and put the point down in the spaces previously outlined starting with 1-2-3-4-5-6 and back from 6-5-4-3-2-1-2-3-4-5-6-5-4-3-2-1... onward forever just like the song that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends. Some people like to call out the numbers as they go but most family would find it unsettling to be woken up in the middle of the night by you screaming "1-2-3-4-5-6-5-4-3-2-1-2-3-4-5-6-5-4-3-2-1" at the top of your lungs, wielding a knife at your desk.
Simple enough. Start off slow and see how fast you can get without actually stabbing yourself. Remember the simple rule stabbing yourself=BAD. Say it with me 'stabbing yourself = BAD.' Nicely done now get out there and impress some girls with your knife wielding ability.
