Knitted Beanie

To do this project, you will need a circular knitting loom. Additional supplies listed below.

1 circular knitting loom
1 whole ball of yarn
1knitting needle
1craft needle

• Keep a 5 inch tale (extra bit of yarn), wrap the tale around the side peg. (You can see the side peg at the top of the picture)
• Wrap the yarn counter-clockwise around each peg, starting with the first peg to the left of the side peg, moving clock-wise around the loom.
• Once you reach the beginning of the loom, repeat the wrapping process one more time around each peg of the loom.

• After you have gone around the loom a second time, wrap the extra yarn around the side peg to secure.

• Starting with the peg to the right of the side peg, take your knitting needle and grab the bottom of the yarn with the knitting needle and pull it over the yarn and peg.

• Then repeat these steps moving clockwise until you get 4 inches of knitted fabric.
• Once you have 4" of knitted fabric - find the bottom loops of the knitted fabric, and put the loops on the top of the pegs. This forms the brim of the beanie.

• Keep knitting the same steps until you get about 10-12 inches.
• Once you have 10-12", put the leftover yarn through the needle.
• To finish the hat off - slide the loop off the peg and pull the needle through the loops.
• Tie off the beanie with a square knot.

You can add the pompom embellishment by securing it to the beanie when tying the square knot. They are super easy to make...

I made mine by wrapping yarn around a fork about 25x. I tied it around the middle (without cutting the yarn used to tie it...) then pulled the wrapped yarn off the fork. I then cut both edges of the loops so they spread open into a pom-pom. This was secured in the knot when I tied off the top of the beanie.
