LED Dia Copy

LED dia kopirka 5.JPG
Hello, people!
As I am photographer, so I collect enormous number of Kodacrome,Fujichrome,..dias. Chemistry. Light and silver. Analog photography. 36 pictures. Waiting for developing. Yeah.
Hey, when it was that?  Imagine a dia after 40 years?
Nowadays, newcomers don't know what was that.  Instant picture. Instant everything. Smile.

Well. I liked to preserve old chemical captured light.  And I assemble "dia scanner".

1. The best light is for dias to copy  - point it on sky at sunny day. About 5600K.

2. Few thousand dias... loaded, pointed on sky... and it is not everyday sunny.

3. I needed artificial light  ... but halogen is to warm.

4. LED's!    I select few with 6000K and few with 4500K

5. Battery 4,5V.

Tube 1

Already purchased duplicator. Plenty of them on market. Have a +10mm  lens and screw according to your filter thread on back. This can be used as strong nacro lens.

Tube 2

Front side. A gap for inserts diapositives. Front of 2mm polycarbonate "Plexiglas"- (Lexan*R is a Trade mark name- usually used in conversation for polycarbonate products... ).This front can be replaced according needs and taste. LED array is directed from a reasonable distance on this white surface to cover a 40x30mm square with "equal" luminosity... I use the LED wirh 15mm angle...concentrated light.

Circuit

You can see a potentiometer, 47 Ohm and a car lamp 5W 12V as a resistor. I can choose amount of light to get proper exposure through diapositives ...to my small camera.

Switch On

It is diffuse light, proper Kelvins and intensity...falling on white Lexan on dia copy tube....

Better Look

Here you can see how jig is made. (Camera and tube for dia copy are bought. Not made)
I use a Lexan Plexiglas to built this jig-holder to help me in a boring work of dia copy.
Comfortable body position. Both hands are free.  Insert.  Adjust.  Click.  An so on....

Ready

Comfortable from the chair. Or bed. Or....
At any time.   Night .      Evening?
(Do not forget a beer not far away from hand.:))

  Sincerely yours.
