LEGO Car With Realistic Steering
What I mean by realistic steering:
- Wide turning angle
- The inner wheel turns more than the outer
- Each wheel is turning around its vertical center
Supplies
I've taken these parts from 2 LEGO sets (about 10$ each): 42101 Buggy and 42102 Mini CLAAS XERION. Instructions are made with LDraw (LDCad & LPub3D).

- 6558 4x Long Pin with Friction
- 2825 3x Black Beam 1 x 4 x 0.5 with Knob
- 6632 2x Beam 3 x 0.5 with Axle Holes
- 41677 2x Beam 2 x 0.5 with Axle Holes
- 3705 1x Axle 4 (can be replaced with another Axle of length 3 or longer)
- 2780 12x Pin with Friction Ridges and Slots (8x are required, and 4x are optional for rear wing)
- 42003 4x Cross Block 1 x 3 (2x are required, 2x can be replaced with 6536 or 32184)
- 32291 2x Black Cross Block with Two Pinholes
- 32270 1x Gear with 12 Teeth and Double Bevel (optional, used for convenient steering)
- 32348 2x Beam Bent 53 Degrees, 4 and 4 Holes (optional, used for rear wing)
- 32140 9x Beam 2 x 4 Bent 90 Degrees
- 32123 5x Half Bushing (4x required, 1x optional for convenient steering)
- 24316 4x Axle 3 with End Stop (used for wheels, maybe other axles can be also suitable)
- 6536 2x Cross Block 90 1 x 2 (Axle/Pin) (can be replaced with 42003 or 32184)
- 6590 3x Bushing
- 11478 1x Beam 5 x 0.5 with Axle Holes
- 32062 7x Axle 2 with Grooves (can be replaced with Axle 3 = 4519)
- 87083 1x Axle 4 with End Stop (can be replaced with longer Axle and Bushing)
- 94925 2x Gear with 16 Teeth (Reinforced)
- 60485 1x Axle 9
- 4519 2x Axle 3
- 3673 1x Pin without Friction Ridges (can be replaced with 3749)
- 3749 5x Axle to Pin Connector
- 55982 4x White Wheel Rim Ø18 x 14 with Axle Hole (or another wheel)
- 92402 4x Tire Ø 30.4 x 14 (or another wheel tire)
- 32316 2x Beam 5
- 32073 1x Axle 5 (optional, used for rear wing)
- 32526 2x Beam Bent 90 degrees, 3 and 5 Holes
Body Core and Rear Wheels
Following the instructions on the image, assemble the central body part, it will hold together front and rear wheels. Then assemble rear wheels and attach them to the central body.
