This is a LEGO GLaDOS that I had built a while ago, but took another go at it to make it even better. Now the eyes light up and there is a panel that will peek out from behind the chassis. You can switch the cores just like in the game, and there are two parts that you remove when going from GLaDOS to Wheatley and add when switching back. I have a few pictures with the parts needed to build it included above. The mechanism and moving parts are primarily buildable from EV3 313113 but you will need more normal and technic LEGO to build.
Supplies
you will need LEGO, specifically the parts listed in the photos above
Build the Frame and Panel
Build the frame that will hold GLaDOS. I do not have in-depth instructions for this, it can be any way you want it. The back of the back wall has a mechanism that allows one panel to swing up. Expanded notes are in the pictures, click on a picture to see the notes.
Build the Body of GLaDOS
This is a big one, follow the instructions on the pictures, this is built in three sections then assembled. One section has the medium tire, another has a large motor and the third has a big tire. Also build the small parts atttched to GLaDOS when it is GLaDOS and not Wheatley in the chassis.
Secondary Chassis Assembly
this is the lower chassis or "torso" of the chassis. the medium motor powers the heads to make them move.
Build GLaDOS Head
Assemble GLaDOS head to put on later, this head is different from Wheatley's because there is a small gearbox that turns from side to side.
Build Wheatley's Head
This is one of the more complicated steps, any questions I will happily answer in the chat. To be honest, it doesn't really matter which way his handles are because ideally you would have four of the black pieces but I only have 2 so yeah. Also the top or bottom doesn't matter as long as the cable goes to the left when you plug him in.
Connect Electronics
Ports for ev3 motors:
A. Medium motor
B.
C. Large motor, side to side
D. Large motor, up and down
Power functions:
lights -> battery
motor -> switch -> battery
All cables go through the gap in the back wall.
Program and Enjoy!
The program is here in this step, unfortunately Instructables does not like .ev3 files so I have a link to a google drive file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MxTJZDwmjTJgL247pwT3Edr5f5vaqHMP/view?usp=sharing for the program. Enjoy(or live in constant fear of) the new GLaDOS in your room! If you have any questions I will answer them as soon as I can. I have entered this into the simple machines contest so please vote if you like it
