SICK OF DRAWING BIRDS SO AS I WORK WITH STEEL I THOUGHT I WOULD MAKE ONE. MADE A SALMON FOR ITS TALON JUST TO MAKE IT MORE DRAMATIC. THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT 3D SCULPTURE.I INITIALLY DREW THE SHAPE OUT ON THE BENCH THEN BENT SOME 8MM ROUND BAR TO FORM THE ARMATURE THEN ADDED 2 MORE SLIGHTLY SMALLER ON EITHER SIDE. I BENT 3MM FLATS ROUND THE FRAME FOR FIXINGS ALL "FEATHERS" ARE CUT INDIVIDUALLY WITH THE PLASMA AND TACKED ON WITH MIG. THE SALMON WAS CUT IN 2 HALFS, BOWLED OUT WITH A BALL PEIN HAMMER, WELDED TOGETHER THEN DETAILED. THIS BIRD IS LIFE SIZE WITH A 2 METRE WING SPAN. HAVE SINCE DONE AN EAGLE OWL AND HALF WAY THROUGH AN OSPREY
