Laser Etched Spiderman & Batman Cardboard Art

Photo-Apr-23,-6-45-28-PM.jpg

I wanted to experiment with etching cardboard with the Laser Cutter at Techshop so I decide to use Spidey and Batman as test subjects.

Vector File

I created the vector file from scratch in Illustrator for this project. I double checked my fill and stroke settings before etching and cutting.

Etch

I etched and cut the images on cardboard but noticed a thin layer of material left over where the etching took place. Next time I'll adjust the speed and power settings to try to avoid the next step..

Clean Up

Since there was a thin layer left after the etching, I used a toothpick and mini wire brush to clean up a bit.

Paint

After all clean and dusted off, I busted out some paint and brushed away! In the future and with the proper settings honed in, I'll paint first then cut and etch. But for now, It was the hard way for some Spidey and Batman Laser Etched Cardboard Art that I made at Techshop! http://techshop.ws/
