Laser Processed Leather Belt

Organic leather can be processed very well with a laser. Even the smallest details and intricate patterns are optimally cut and engraved.

• Create your own design, or use our free template.

• CO2 laser cutter (We used a Trotec Speedy 400 flexx 120W with a 2" lens)
• Aluminum slat cutting table
• Laser masking or painters tape (Cover unused laser bed to create optimal airflow)

• Cowhide leather belt (Approx. 1/8" thick, approx. 1.5" wide, total length incl. belt buckle 41")

• Resolution: 500 dpi
• Cut Line: None
• Halftone: Ordered Dithering
• Others: Optimized geometries, inner geometries first

Place the belt on the aluminum grid table in your laser with the belt buckle on the right side. For an optimum engraving result, place the belt parallel to the upper edge at a distance of approx. 1 cm. Make sure that the leather is straight - the aluminum grid helps with the alignment.

Then cover the remaining working area with laser or painters masking tape to create a strong vacuum.

Our suggested parameters may vary depending on the laser machine used and the available laser power.

Note: Results can vary depending on the color and type of leather.

Remove the belt from the laser device and clean the surface of the leather with a lightly moistened cloth.
