Laser-cut Letter Opener (Dagger)
Modeled after the Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife from World War II, this handy letter opener is actually quite rugged and capable as a general purpose utility knife.
Build this if you like the aesthetic/ergonomics of this collectable war relic and you want a general purpose tool. If, on the other hand, you just wanna go out and stab someone with an undetectable edged weapon, might I suggest sharpening a toothbrush on a rough patch of concrete. That's a lot cheaper than blowing $3,000 on an industrial laser cutter (plus the time and materials costs of this project) just to fulfill your violent impulses... :-P
INSTRUCTIONS:
* Cut from thick acrylic using 40 Watt+ carbon dioxide laser.
* Sharpen blade with Dremel.
* Wrap handle with tape or something.
* Test on whatever gourd or melon is handy! :D
