Get Some Velcro!

I happened to find these strips of velcro in the bin wall scraps! All I did was cut them out and attach them to a scrap piece of fabric. I then sewed a square around it to help keep it all together

Laser Cutting Holes

After I had my 2 sides of velcro finished I laser cut a 1 inch diameter hole in one side of the velcro and the piece of leather. I then superglues the piece of velcro to the leather and sewed a square around that on the walking foot sewing machine to be extra secure.

Here is what the leather looks like from underneath and then on top with the "top" of the velcro attached.

Sewing

This was my first time on the walking foot so it was great practice. Just sew around the edge of the leather bag and hope for straight lines. This sewing machine goes very fast. If your thread breaks, adjust the tension on the machine and try again.

Finished!

Now all you have to do is pour your filler in! I used playground sand. If I did this again I would use more supple leather and softer sand. However this was really cheap and great practice.
