Estimated Time: 30 minutes
Yield: 12 Rice Krispie bars
Materials:
· Large mixing bowl
· Saucepan
· 9X13 baking pan
· Parchment paper
· 3 small bowls
Ingredients:
· 5 c. of Rice Krispies cereal
· ¼ c. of butter
· 4 c. of mini marshmellows
· 12 oz. white frosting
· Food coloring (red, blue, and yellow)**
· 1 large bag of M&M candies
**Warning: the food coloring can stain skin and clothing. Please use carefully.
Measure out 5 c. of Rice Krispie cereal and put into a mixing bowl and set aside.
Melt 1/4 c. of butter in saucepan over low heat. After butter is melted, pour in the 4 c. of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until butter and marshmallows are completely melted.
Transfer marshmallow and butter mixture from saucepan into the Rice Krispie bowl. Mix well.
Spoon into a 9X13 inch pan and press down using parchment paper until evenly spread.
Set aside to cool and harden.
While Rice Krispies are cooling, divide icing evenly into three bowls. Add one food coloring to each bowl (hint: a little bit of color goes a long ways). Mix frosting and color until well blended.
Divide the M&M’s based on their color.
Cut Rice Krispies into rectangular shape (3X4)
Remove from pan and ice the Rice Krispie treat, covering the top surface.
Place M&M’s on iced rectangle 2X3 across to resemble a Lego piece.
Enjoy your treat!
