Lesson 4: Cardboard Animal Fox

cardboard fox 2.jpg

Hello there, hope you are doing well and welcome to lesson 3 of "Unleash your Creativity".

In today's lesson, I will be aiming to teach you how to making a simple cardboard animal - a Fox.

But you can make others animals to if you would like.

Don't worry if you never done anything like this before.

It might look difficult if you are not used to painting or working with cardboard.

By the end of this lesson you will feel proud of your cardboard animal.

Supplies

  • card board: any quality will do from packages you have at home or supermarkets
  • scissors: any home scissors well do
  • paint: you can use any paint

depending on cardboard texture maybe colour card can be used over the paintYou need glue if you prefer to use the card over paint.

1. Draw Your Animal on the Cardboard

Draw on the cardboard what animal you want to create. It can be a Wolf, Fox, Bear or any animal.

Once you have drawn it on the cardboard then cut it out.

2. Paint on the Main Body Colour

Paint on the colour that we'll be seen the most first to act as a boarder for the other colours. With my being a Fox I used white first.

Don't worry if you go over some of your lines as you can paint over them later.

3. Paint on the Second Body Colour

Once the white is dry use your next body colour. I used orange to make the paws and face for my Fox.

4. Add the Details

When the orange is dry you can use black to bring in the facial details. This will help the front paws stand out and toes/ claws.

If they don't look right. Use your other colours to repaint over the black.

5. Add a Stand to Finish

When your cardboard animal is fully dry cut out a triangle to act as the back support to help it stand up.
You can use tape or glue to hold it in place.

Once completed your cardboard animal is finished.

Leaving you happy with a finished art project that can be displayed in your home or for a child to play with.
