Life Hack - Anti Rust Hack

Every fall before winter I apply vaseline on my metal balcony railing. It creates a thin coating that prevents water to come in contact with metal. Water slides right on the sides or stays in pudles on flat surfaces till it evaporates. Since I use this method, running rust is nowhere to be found.

This should be used in fall or winter when there is no sun around (water drops that stay for long and sun are not good combination for paint).
