What You Will Need?

  • Square wooden board of your own choice
  • A mixture of different wooden letters (enough to fill ¾ of the board )http://www.inf.co.uk/infinite/RLETTERS.html
  • A tin of white primer paint
  • A mixture of different coloured paints
  • Sandpaper
  • Pencil
  • PVA glue
  • Roller
  • Paintbrush

Sand and Roll

Firstly, give the board a thorough sanding, including the edges. Next, take the white primer paint and the roller; coat the board with a thick layer of paint and leave to dry.

Time to Paint!

Divide letters into several piles, giving each pile a different colour of paint. Take each pile individually and paint it with the required colour. Don’t forget to leave to dry!

Simply Sketch

In the centre of the board draw half a heart leaving a 2inch gap around the edge of the board. On the half heart line arrange the painted letters on the line. ( DO NOT STICK DOWN YET)

A Heart Full of Words

Tightly place as many letters as possible into the half heart giving a good mix of colours, shapes and fonts.

Nearly There….

Now to do the other side of the heart, scatter more wooden letters whilst still loosely keeping the shape of the heart making it look as if one half of it has been stretched. Spread the letters out making it look as if the letters are dispersing.

Time to Get Sticky

Take one letter at a time and individually stick them on to the board being careful to stick to the shape of the heart. Leave to dry and now…..
You've finished!
