Square wheels are really cool but the only catch is that you need to build a track for them.
This instructable tells you how you can make your own square wheel and its track easily at home.
THINGS YOU NEED:
*Thermocol / hard foam
*kebab skewer
*compass
*sketch pen/marker
*cutting knife
*glue
*ruler
WHAT TO DO
1.Mark and cut out a thermocol square of side 5.5 cm.
2.mark its center and put a kebab skewer trough the center.Glue the skewer in place. This will help you turn the square.
Tape the edges of the square in order to keep them even.
3.Now we calculate the radius of the semi-circles that make up the track.
This can be calculated by formula -       radius of semicircle = (length of side of square*7)/22
For a 5.5 cm square the radius is 1.75 cm.
4.Now draw a straight line across the thermocol. On this using a compass mark semicircles of radius 1.75cm.
5.MAKE SURE TO LEAVE A SPACE OF 5-7 mm OF SPACE BETWEEN THE SEMICIRCLES. This is to incorporate the
shape of the square.
6.Cut these out the track and once again tape the edges to keep them even.
7.Now you can drive your square wheel over the track.
