Maggies Cupcakes
If you have a little sister or a child of your own this is the perfect thing to make. You will have to help them but the time spent together will be well enjoyed.
My little sister is four years old.
Ingredients
You will need:
- 12 cupcake tins and cases
- 140 grams of flour
- 125 grams of butter
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence
- 2 eggs
- 100 grams of sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 30 milliliters (2 tablespoons) of milk
- 1.5 cups of hot stewed apple
Butter and Sugar
Put your butter, sugar and vanilla into the mixer (you will want one if you are working with a child) and mix them together. We are showing hand mixing for clarity.
Cracking an Egg
Start by holding an egg then puncture it with your two thumbs and pull apart until the contents fall into the bowl. Do this for your second egg also and stir it in.
Flour
Sit a sieve on top of your mixer bowl and dump in the flour, cinnamon and baking powder. Pick up your sieve and pat the side of it with your hand until it is completely sieved. Now stir it in.
Mixing
Mix it up until it becomes a dryish mixture, add the milk ad stir until combined.
The Apple
Tip your stewed apple into the mix and stir it in. Here is how to make your own stewed apple. How to Stewed Apples
Cup Cakes
Prepare the cupcake tray by lining the tins with paper cupcake cases. Then use two spoons to transfer the mixture into the lined tins.
Cook the cupcakes in a 180 degree C (356 F) oven for 15-20 minutes or until risen and golden brown.
Icing Sugar
Put some icing sugar into a sieve and dust the cooked cupcakes with a liberal coating of sugar.
Finished
After a wonderful time cooking we have made a delicious cup cake which was enjoyed most by my little sister Maggie.
