Make Your Own CD!
Hello! This instructable is intended to teach how to make your own diy CD. This can be used to make a CD of your own music or even just a fun little mix tape to share between friends! The end result will have many elements seen in a professional CD and give a fun piece of physical representation to your art!
Step 1: Upload Music Files to Blank CD-R
First of all, you should start the project with a blank CD-R or CD-RW. Put this disc into a computer's disc drive. If your computer does not have a disc drive, you can purchase a usb disc drive that will work! Once the disc is in the drive, you can upload the files for your music onto the disc either through a digital audio work station such as audacity or through a media player such as Windows Media Player.
Step 2: Make Your Artwork!
Next, you need to make the artwork for your album. This can most easily be done through a program such as Adobe Creative Cloud Express, where you can edit text onto an image that you would like to use as an album cover. Of course, a higher resolution image is preferable and the image should be in the shape of a square.
Optional Step: Create Liner Notes
As an optional step, for added professionalism and fun, you can add liner notes to your album art. This can be most easily done by printing the album art as only one section of a double sided folded paper. This allows you to make the most of a printed sheet! You can make additional notes on two computer paper shaped projects, one for the front of the booklet, and the other for the back. This can be done in the same graphic design program as used before or can be done in a different designer. Its up to you!
Step 4: Print Your Artwork!
Once your artwork is completed, print the artwork as a double sided pdf. It can also be one sided if you did not create liner notes or extra content. Fold this artwork to fit within the front cover of your blank CD case. This creates a professional looking CD with an aesthetically pleasing appearance. At this point, your CD should be complete unless you intend to add more details to your project. Be creative and have fun!!!
