Make Your Own T-Shirt Wall Art
Grab your old t-shirts of all shapes and sizes, and get creative with making your own wall art to cherish!
Grab Your Materials
All you need to make t-shirt wall art are...
- variety of old t-shirts (you can also find these t-shirts in most flea markets, thrift stores, or dollar stores where they sell nearly used t-shirts)
- 12" x 12" canvases
- scissors
- staple gun
Prep Your Shirts
Before you start this project, consider this tip. If you have t-shirts in your closet, pull out a few, look at them, and ask yourself this question: "Have I used or worn this in the past year?" If the answer is no, it's probably time to give it up. But, even better, if it's worn out, you're ready to use it for this project.
To make this project, you might want to consider ironing your shirts, so that they don't come out wrinkled in the finished product.
Cover the Canvas
Lay out a 12 x 12 inch canvas, and fold over the t-shirt or nightgown you want to use. I find it best to cut the shirt by the corners to make it easy to fold over.
Staple in Place
Then, use your staple gun to staple the shirt in place.
Complete!
Now, all there's left to do is hang up and enjoy!
Display
These are just some examples of t-shirts that I pulled out and made into wall art: Japanese Geisha / Dr. Seuss/ Neon Peace Sign Paint Splatter. I really love this project, because I found most of my shirts, and nightgowns either already worn out or too small for me to wear! It adds fun color and makes a great idea for bedroom decor for kids, teens, and adults alike!
