Make a CLAPPERBOARD

make a Clapperboard

I have just bought a new camera so I will to sync everything together so I made a clapper board to assist that task.

"A clapperboard is a device used in filmmaking and video production to assist in the synchronizing of picture and sound, and to designate and mark particular scenes and takes recorded during a production."

I am using flooring so I had to cut a tongue off one side.

Mark and Cut the Wood

Start by cutting two lengths of the board the same size as show in the picture mine are about 25 mm wide.

To make a hinge I used some aluminium sheet which the wood was traced out on.

Then I repeated that proceeded now I have two pieces of aluminium when cutting, mine developed a curled edge so I proceed to flatten them with a hammer.

Drill ,drill ,screw..

Its hard to see in these pictures but I drilled two holes at the end through the metal then screwed this to the wood.

I wrapped a rubber band around the two pieces off wood while I drilled through the top corner to attach a machine screw and nut.

here it is except for the chip out which could be eliminated by replacing the blade, I am pleased with the outcome.
