Make a DIY Bunny Plant Holder With Me!

I made a simple yet cute DIY bunny rabbit vase from recycled material. I wanted to make this because it is eco-friendly and puts rubbish we usually throw away, to good use. What inspired me to choose a bunny as my main idea was that I have two rabbits at home, Benny and Saphi, and I thought this DIY would be close to my heart, and express something that we love in our home, our pets.

Supplies

The materials I used to make this awesome DIY project are:

  • An empty, large plastic bottle.
  • Pink Paint
  • White paint
  • A black POSCA marker
  • A paintbrush
  • A pencil
  • And plants of your choice!

Get an Empty, Large Plastic Bottle.

All you need to do in this step is gather your main material - your plastic bottle. This is what the bunny is going to be made out of, and what will hold the plant!

Cut Your Plastic Bottle to Your Prefered Shape/animal.

I have decided to make my animal a bunny as you have probably read before. I cut out ears which I will later colour pink, but you could do anything. Your imagination is limitless!

Remember to be careful when cutting out stuff. The edges of the plastic could be spiky and cut you, or you could hurt yourself with scissors. I needed my parents to help me cut it out to be safe with scissors, so be careful!

Paint Your Bunny

This step includes getting messy! Of course, you don't have to choose to make a bunny, and even if you did, you can choose whatever colours, like blue, orange or red!

I chose to paint my bunny white. You may need to do a few extra coats of paint if you are using a light colour like yellow or white, or if you want a more solid base coat.

Add the Finishing Touches of Paint!

I decided to do the final touches in pink. The places you can add these are on the ears, a little bunny nose, and even a cute fluffy bunny tail! You may also need to do a few extra coats of this colour too so it looks good.

Finally, Add Black Marker

You can use POSCA paint markers to do this step, fine line markers, charpie, and any black pen that will show up on the paint. For this, make sure the paint has fully dried before you do this step. Or, you may not even want to outline, but I recommend adding whiskers and cute eyes to make your bunny look complete.

Add Something Inside!

I have added plants and soil from my garden to use my bunny as a vase, but you could do anything! I would also recommend using this as a jewelry holder, watch holder, or something to hold your keys if you want more use out of it or to put it inside. It's very versatile and great for anything.

That was the final step! I really hope you liked my DIY plant holder bunny, or just a holder. It's quite versatile and looks very styling. It's a great art and craft to do with your kids, or for me, sibling. Thanks for watching!
