Last week i uploaded a project on home automation ,so i borrow a led strip for demonstration .It was lying on my desk. so i was wondering weather the warm light can be used for photography or not ??
I wanted to make a big panel but as it was friends item i could used only a small part of it .
I decide to make a small panel .I remember that i had a old usb led light 's flexible cord.
So i decided to add that to it and then the stand i used a clip to make it attach to any thing.

Most of the components are salvaged , So it was too cheap for me .
I will also tell from where i got the parts .

  • USB flexible Cord : Salvaged from an old usb led light .
  • DC male jack :I Bought it from my local store
  • DC female Jack : I bought from my local
  • Led Strip : Brought from ebay link is here
  • A clip : I took one from my mom's laundry basket :P

U will also need the following tools

  • Soldering Iron
  • Glue gun
  • Dremel /Drill Machine

The led strips comes with self adhesive tape.Usually 3M adhesive .
All it needs to peel off the tapes.I Applied the tap on a veroboard as later i will solder the Vcc and Gnd.
You can also do it on a cardboard. I didn't had one at the moment so the choice was simple to go the veroboard.
Slowly paste all the led on the board and after you have finished pasting judge solder all the vcc and gnd .basically we are creating a parallel connection of all the leds mini strip .Lastly add the two wire for the positive and negative.

Soldering and Gluing the Female Jack

The Dc female jack acts as a connector to the stand .
I by mistake soldered the connection reverse so i adjusted with reversing the male connection as well.
the actual connection would be simple the back one is for ground and the front one is for the positve.
the side one is also for Ground

The Flexible Stand

The stand is made by a old USB Led light,i took the the cord cut it from USB Cord using a Dremel cutting
firstly i cut the USB female jack out of the cord to get access to the wires .it was some time taking after the cut i realized it has a stuffing inside of plastic i had to cut again and get the stuffing layer out.
Once the cord was done, i took two wire and passed it through the cord and soldered it to the male jack and screw the enclosure .

The Last Step

The clip i used was a regular clip and i needed to make sure that the cord fits perfectly in the clip i drilled a hole of diameter 5mm for the work .I used a drill bit first and then a grinding .
i also had to make a small hole as my wire wasn't thin enough for two to pass at the same time, i had to keep the other one lose outside.
After passing the wire we tighten the cord and glue everything tightly .and you made yourself a $2 led table lamp .
show me what you come up with .
