Make Your Own 360 Panoramic Photo Robot

this is my 360 panoramic photo robot, the idea is shooting in 360 degrees in the smaller time as possible without errors, take the panoramic in a hard conditions and fun!.

this project i take a 1 month and i am implementing improvements, and i use parts of bad cd-roms and hard disk drives.

i hope that it serves to construct your own robot or can leave ideas for another project.

Hard Work, Cut the Aluminium!

First, buy a 2,5mm aluminium laminates, draw a circle of 20mm and mark the aluminium.
cut 5 circles of aluminium.

construct supports for the axes that hold the camera, put the cdrom axis in the border. design the support its camera model.

hold the laminates with aluminium bars and put the camera support laminates, it must move freely.

put a gear or another system in the right face, and put a servomotor with another gear.

as the previus step is necessary to place gears or another system to insert the servo motor.

Electronics

Already finished the hardware steps, we will come to electronic issue, i use a parallax basic stamp, but any other are good.


is necessary to program the servomotors, first that turn from a side to another one, stop and take a photo(the camera have a remote control and shut it with the basic stamp), when 360 degrees is complete i have a 20 photos aprox, the camera up and takes another sequence.

the idea is a take a panoramic matrix, in my first test i take a 60 photos in 8 Mpixels with a canon rebel.

the follow step is stitching the images but that is another instructable...
